I didn't think I would ever see our 50th reunion!! That would make us really old! Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend this reunion but I hope all of you who attend enjoy every minute of the reunion.I live in Montana with my husband of 56 years - Jerry - we have one wonderful daughter who lives in So. Cal. We are very lucky to have a very active social life here (although we are very remote here), with parties, diners, trips, etc. Our group numbers 22 during the summer. My husband retired from the LAPD as a homicide detective. He now has a Private Investigator's business and that keeps him busy. He plays golf, and loves to travel. I retired as an Executive Assistant to the Chairman and CEO of a very large company. I, too, like to travel and paint and enjoy the wonderful place we have in Montana. We have 40 acres of land with two beautiful meadows and a river that runs through our property and lots of wildlife - just had a bear outside on our driveway last week. Again, hope you all have a wonderful reunion. |

Lee, here.. I graduated at 5’2” and grew 8” more to be 5’10”. I went to Pierce College and then on to Cal Poly, SLO. I got my draft notice then, so I joined the navy instead and did West Pac. duty on a repair ship built in 1944. I reconnected with Jonathan Pinne in Taiwan who was on conventional submarine duty. Came back home and went to motorcycle repair school. Met my wife, Robin, of 38 years, at “Under the Ice House” in Glendale.
We moved to Santa Barbara where I went to SBCC. I took business classes and majored in auto repair. We had a chance to move to northern California and we took it. We bought 20 acres of raw land with no power, no phones, no running water or conventional toilet. Ron Bonfiglio came up to help us build our first cabin. I had a small engine and auto repair business. Robin worked as a school nurse for the school district. We had bees for honey, chickens, fruit trees, and gardens. We raised 2 children. Jake, our son, was murdered 13 years ago and we miss him still. Lauren, our daughter, now married, gave us our first grandchild this year. We are both retired now and enjoy the country as always. We walk every evening and sit in our chairs, looking up at the night sky for falling stars. |

After graduation I spent time living and working in places like Mammoth Mtn for skiing and Hawaii for surfing. In 1967, I left my bartending job in Waikiki, bought a new Ford van, dropped off my surfboard, packed my skis and headed to Aspen, CO. I got a job tending bar and a SKI PASS. Life was good but it got better, I met my furture wife, Becky. We had 2 children, Ryan (39) and Rachelle (37). We opened a slopeside restaurant/bar and along with ski instructing...kept me busy for many years. I'm now retired but enjoy skiing, kayaking, biking and being "Poppy" to my two grandaughters, Annika (5) and Avalon (4). Life is still GOOD! See ya in September.

After graduation, I attended Occidental college where I majored in biology. I married a fellow Oxy student, Linda Stroop, just after graduation in June 1966. We both spent the first few years of our marriage in graduate school at UCLA. While Linda eventually completed both Masters and PhD degrees, I dropped out to work for the Forest Service on the Angeles National Forest. For twenty years, I worked at Chilao, and both of our children, Sarah and Lorianne, were born while we were living in a government residence in Chilao Campground. In 1991, I transferred to the Forest Service office in Washington DC, and we moved to Warrenton, where we now live. I worked at Forest Service headquarters for almost ten years, and then moved to USDA headquarters where I managed a staff office. I retired at the end of 2009, but Linda is still teaching math at the local community college where she has worked for many years. We are both looking forward to the reunion. |

I am looking forward to seeing many of you in September at our 50th. I am on the reunion committee and working with wonderful classmates and enjoying it very much. I was a legal secretary/paralegal for many years and then I joined Newport-Mesa Unified School District in 1978 as a High School Office Manager and later as an Executive Assistant in the District Office until my retirement in 2006. I am now enjoying my grandkids and their activities, and I am involved in some community work and charitable organizations. We have done a lot of traveling over the years, both in the U.S., Canada and overseas (Scotland lots) and plan to do more! We have lived in the same house for 33 years and enjoying life in Costa Mesa, CA. |
