![]() ![]() Wow! After a year of planning by our committee, we had an incredible, fantastic, amazing three-day reunion weekend September 28-30. From the Friday dinner at Ernie Jr's through the farewell BBQ at my house on Sunday, everyone really had a great time. Thanks to all of our committee members for putting on a great reunion, and particularly to my co-chair, Manny Rangel. After Franklin, I went to USC (as a senior, I was drum section leader of the Trojan Marching Band!). Then I went off to law school at UC Berkeley (yes, Berkeley in the late 60's - pretty exciting stuff). I've been a lawyer in the L.A. area for almost 44 years and have been a shareholder in my current firm for 31 years. I primarily handle real estate, business transactions, and healthcare (hospitals, physicians and physician groups). I have one child and four grandchildren. I am currently engaged to a wonderful lady named Tracy, who was a great help to our committee plan the reunion and hosted all of our committee meetings. Tune in next year for more S'62 events. It was great reconnecting with old friends and making new ones from old acquaintances. |

My wife Dedra and I spend the majority of our time in Goleta with her 97 year old mother rather than at our new home in Ventura (I finally left Highland Park!).I was volunteering at a outdoor wilderness program with kids but it wore me out physically so I gave it up (a concession to age). Nowadays being a docent at the Santa Barbara Natural History is more my style—I’m one of their specialist in Chumas culture and history. We still walk everyday and I hit the gym once or twice a week. I am updating the website right now (January 2, 2019) and will getting in touch with all of you in a group letter soon. Life remains good |

![]() ![]() 2013-I lost 4 good friends/relatives this year... but my health is better, so I can't complain! 2014-I don't get how my self image is 50 years younger than the image I see in the mirror. I look just as old as the rest of you - of course, I AM just as old as the rest of you! |

1962 was a long time ago, many have passed. I feel fortunate to have lived this long. Many do not have that privilege. Bless all of you that can read this. |

Some of life's changes bring happiness ... children born, graduations, marriages, grandchildren, etc. But the hardest is when we lose the love of our life. My Lisa met Jesus on April 10, 2019 following a diagnosis of a very rare and very aggressive cancer. From an upset stomach to her death in 5 weeks, 0ur 52+ years of marriage ended. My life now is to honor her memory and be the man she would want me to be.

I still live in Highland Park. I taught Social Studies at Roosevelt High in East LA. I recently retired both as a teacher and as a police officer with the LAPD. . I am good friends with Mae Woods (W62) and we both occasionally make a trip to Santa Barbara to see Mrs. Jeter our old teacher. I have done a lot of traveling
since our 50th reunion I have vacationed in Southern Arizona, I especially love Bisbee and
Tombstone. My love of the desert allowed me to go to Egypt last year. Hope to see some of you at the Santa Anita fundraiser in April.
