January 19 Semi retired professional genealogist Widowed 6 1962

While attending BYU I met my future husband.  After we married, we lived in the L.A. area for 8 years before finally moving to Utah.  I worked as a British Reference Consultant at the Family History Library for 10 years and have been a professional genealogist for over 40 years.  My husband, after almost 54 years of marriage, died in 2017.  With this new phase of life, I decided to almost completely retire as a genealogist and focus on historical/biographical research. Our extended family as of 2019 includes 24 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.  Now that I am past the first firsts since Richard's death, I am trying to figure out how to integrate me into my new life. Travel is creeping back into my life.  Foreign trips taken the past two include Newfoundland and Italy.  And I'm happy to report I am still in my own home thanks to help from a teenager in our neighborhood who helps with yardwork and friends who take care of shoveling my walks and driveway.

I still live in Highland Park.  I taught Social Studies at Roosevelt High in East LA. I recently retired both as a teacher and as a police officer with the LAPD. . I am good friends with Mae Woods (W62) and we both occasionally make a trip to Santa Barbara to see Mrs. Jeter our old teacher. I have done a lot of traveling since our 50th reunion I have vacationed in Southern Arizona, I especially love Bisbee and Tombstone. My love of the desert allowed me to go to Egypt last year. Hope to see some of you at the Santa Anita fundraiser in April. Send Elizabeth a MessageSend Elizabeth a Message

1962 was a long time ago, many have passed. I feel fortunate to have lived this long. Many do not have that privilege. Bless all of you that can read this.

December 05, 1944 Retired Special Ed Teacher Married 1
My wife Dedra and I spend the majority of our time in Goleta with her 97 year old mother rather than at our new home in Ventura (I finally left Highland Park!).

I was volunteering at a outdoor wilderness program with kids but it wore me out physically so I gave it up (a concession to age). Nowadays being a docent at the Santa Barbara Natural History is more my style—I’m one of their specialist in Chumas culture and history.

We still walk everyday and I hit the gym once or twice a week.

I am updating the website right now (January 2, 2019) and will getting in touch with all of you in a group letter soon.
